This datalayer has 21 land use classifications for 1971, 1985 and 1999. It provides information on how many acres were dedicated to a land use type in 1971, 1985 and 1999. It is important information for land use planning, and it is also useful to private developers on making land investment decisions.

This datalayer contains data of aggregate land use areas on a town-by-town basis for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1999. The information for each town includes the population in 1980, 1990 and 2000, the area of each land use type based on the 21-class MacConnell land use categories.

FEMA Flood Zones

These data represent a subset of the data available on the paper Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) as provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The data should be used to portray zones of uncertainty and possible risks associated with flooding. All counties except Franklin are available for Massachusetts.
